Yes, this is a problem of the nice living standards of the Laurentians. Mobile data costs prohibitive

The only way I see if to establish a unlicensed band microwave link from the mobile operator tower to your premises.
It would help to cut the costs if you have neighbors to share the connection and the costs.

The costs would be:
Monthly fee to operator and the initial set up.

I am just building one for the Chinese in a remote area here. The mobile operator tower is just less than 1Km away. It is used for road coverage mostly.

The advantages for the potential investor in the mining operations, besides the low cost electricity, would be the cooling and low cots of land.

Dig the ground, put the racks with the gear on the cellar, all the cold air goes down, hot air escapes upwards.

Dismantle the gear. Put inside 20ft containers and send to nearest harbor, from there on transport overland.

Our son started life in the Laurentians. We lived in Ottawa where he was born.

Come to think of it and I never have until now, one of his great grandmothers was Louise Laurent. Appropriate name. She was one of my grandmothers, child refugee from Alsace and Paris during the France Prussian war which wasn't long after her mother's father was injured in Crimea and died of his wounds. The siege of Paris was horrible.

Life was tough for most people around the world.

Brandt Kuykendall moved to Dillon Beach, in Marin County, to get away from it all. Then his daughter said she needed Internet access for school. Now Brandt is a one-man ISP.
