A heated exchange between Pastor Mark Burns and talk-show host Joy Reid on her Saturday morning show #AMJOY on MSNBC resulted in the pastor making off-air remarks via Twitter that the host should move to Haiti.

“She’s always been very kind and I think fair to me,” Burns said. “But I think, obviously in the interview that you just saw if you watch Joy, that she should just move to Haiti since she’s more concerned about Haitian immigrants than black Americans here in poverty.”

I believe Trump is a racist. He's shown himself to be racist on more than one occasion. He denies it, but, he lies a lot. He could actually believe himself not a racist, but, he would be wrong.

You should know a racist when you hear him including dog whistles........as you live in a state rich in racist tradition.

Another component of Arkansas's image is a history of racism and racial violence. Arkansas is given the stigma common to the former slave states of the Confederacy. The presence of the Ku Klux Klan following the Civil War and events such as the Elaine Race Riot continued to affirm the reputation for racism. The Little Rock Nine crisis at Central High School in Little Rock defined the state for many years as resistant to integration and renewed the stereotype for many. The Little Rock Nine and similar events are often the only references to the state in history books, thus forming the opinions of many and perpetuating the reputation.
