Don: I have enjoyed your posts. The question at this point should not be to guess what the impact of SEA will be upon earnings in this sector. The question is whether the market has discounted the worst case scenario already. I vote "yes" for the companies that have an advanced portfolio of products and to the larger caps in this sector. The market already has discounted failure. The name of the game is to select stocks that will be in line with expectations and will have good positive visibility. The market will be looking towards the next quarter after reporting season.

I sold my position in FSII about over a month ago at 18 and change. I probably put the proceeds into something that has underperformed as well as compared to the general market in this sector. I did see a transcript of the conference call opening remarks and did talk to FSII IR to gauge what was going on. I was somewhat suprised that FSII had been so positive one month before at the AEA conference and had quickly changed their tune and guidance going forward during the cc. I think the Street had a loss of confidence with FSII which is why it butchered the stock. You don't build expectations one day and then the next day say "never mind." The Street will leave you high and dry. BTW, I complained that FSII should put the conference call telephone number on their press release so the small fry could listen to it. They released during the holiday season and the conference call replay disappeared before I could get the number. She said she would definitely consider the idea. I would advise that others complain as well if they saw this as an oversight like me.

BTW, LRCX estimates going forward are getting crushed. One house cut it down to .50 or so last week thus the reason for the big decline.
