It's fashionable to worry about falling populations, just as in the early 1970s it was fashionable to worry about the population bomb and The Club of Rome's doomsday predictions.

It turned out that other than in Africa, Moslem places and a few others, there wasn't a population bomb. Even places like Iran and India have seen big crashes in breeding and the bomb problem is fizzling out.

Hong Kong is packed to the gunwales with people. Shortage of people is not a problem there. China is not far away either, so I guess that a few of that 1.3 billion people could fill any bargain basement priced apartments if desperate sellers can't find a local buyer. Check apartment prices in Hong Kong to see how much of a problem you have identified. I heard they have gone UP a lot, not down.
