Malone said no such arrangement had ever been contemplated. “I've read the same press reports,” Malone said, “and I can't figure out where they've been coming from. They sure as hell haven't been coming from me.” “This is an arm's-length, technology for license fee arrangement,” Malone added....". ===================================================================== Maybe this is what you might have read. There have been a lot of sparging remarks thrown around by Gates and other players at this CES conference. The bottom line is that Sun got an open committment from TCI to utilize their technology in over half of these set-top boxes ..... and Gates thought he had them all. EKS
