I see little value in the bands for stocks, for futures, maybe. You buy and sell like any MA.

I haven't found a satisfactory result playing with the bands yet. Two days after VIDYA 21,5 crossover tests well using some other confirmations.

RE: VariableMA511

I can't get appreciably better results but it definitely needs to be set to shorter periods (13 vs 21) for a proximity match. Would you suggest overlaying multiple periods or any one in particular? VHF seems to track trend strength more reliably than CMO. (>.30 as VHF threshold?) In your critique is it VIDYA tracks too closely or is just weakened by using CMO as the volatility index for stocks? With the Equis site formula smoothing periods can also be adjusted which seems to make it more versatile to configure. If I were to change that formula to use VHF would I end up with a vanilla VMA511 again? Without seeing the original code its guesswork. Thought you might know before I hit the indicator builder functions again.
