Thread, For those who are interested in what Bob Brinker had to say this weekend - Bob Brinker, who hosts a radio talk-show heard nationwide on Sat and Sun afternoons, said several interesting things. He is predicting a rebound from 7400-7500 DJIA to the 8300-8500 level. The rebound will start at the end of Jan and reach those levels by June. He believes we are near the bottom now. Here's a quote: "The bad-news bears will be running for cover soon!" Thinks the tech stocks and in particular, Intel, will lead this rally. Thinks there are many, many bargains available in the market at this time (not just in techs) and if we get to 7400, it will be the gift of a lifetime. He sold Intel in the 90's and has been out of the stock until he recently got back in at 69 1/8. He thinks that this is by far the best company in the semi business and thinks it is a good buy at today's prices. He calls Intel a "trading stock." Thinks what Intel will have to say in their conference call this week will be much more significant than whatever they report. The view looking forward is more important than the past quarter, he says. All of the above is my summary of Brinker's view. FWIW. Not necessarily mine. I am not a trader. I do hope that he is correct on his predicted rally. Barry

Barry, out of curiosity I just tried the Motley Fool site. They are apparently having the same sort of problems. I haven't had any other problems around the web. But I've been off-line most of the past two days. Thanks for the Brinker info. He seems to be calling the market pretty good these past couple of years. I also heard from someone second hand that Abby Cohen was still pretty bullish. This week should be very interesting indeed! My prediction... Intel reports .92 cents. Just beating estimates by a couple of pennies. FWIW I really blew the last quarters call :-) Michael
