I have some very decent friends who are religious but their decency has nothing to do with their religion. The vast majority of our religions lie and refuse to speak out against pure evil. When Bush tortured POWs how many church leaders spoke out against his war crimes? How many demanded the war end when there weren't any WMDs and how many bashed gays instead of speaking out against an unjust war? There is good in this country and I see it every day. I don't assign religion to good but instead the people who do it.
