There is no large accumulations taking place EXCEPT for the short position.

Among successful investors, this is known as a clue.

How can that happen if the stock cannot be sold short?
Was no one ever able to clue her in that REFR is in fact quite shortable, if you are with the right broker?

Oh well, if she refuses to keep herself informed about her own investment of 25 years, what can one do.

Thanks ND. The data you post is perfectly consistent with dealers that carry no inventory making markets. They sell short then buy back again and again and again.

If the short interest fluctuates by roughly 500k shares over time, and the float is about 15 million (guess), then really it's about 3% of the available share. Not really alot, especailly these days with much higher relative daily volume.

In terms of the 'short' posters. I think that there are 2-3 people behind all the ID's, and they post here for the same reasons the longs post, people debate baseball, bashers spew vitriol on every open forum everywhere on the internet. I have most of them on ignore for the same reason I don't spend my time on 99.9999...% of the internet: time value constraints.
