Hello to all. First time on this thread. I very seldom short,
but I was going to short GW and missed it , I was chicken.
I am watching PSFT, SEBL, CTXS and BFPT.
I have not as yet shorted any of these( still chicken)
Does anyone have any opinions on any of these.
Maybe I'll take the plunge.

Thanks,

Ken

P.S. There has been insider selling in all of these!!

Roger, I shorted esmc also because of that deal. Every previous deal I am aware of has caused the stock to tank a minimum of 2/3. For example, one stock went from $2 to 35c. However, I will admit that all these previous deals were with bb or small Nasdaq stocks. Usually it is those stocks that do these ripoff deals because they are so desparate. Actually, I decided that the best way to get rich quick is to get in on one of these kinds of deals. Have you ever done that, Roger. I was recently speaking with someone who made 10x his money on this type of deal with essentially zero risk. The only risk, I believe, is that the company will go bankrupt before you can unload the stuff on the hapless shareholders. I believe there is usually a 30 day waiting period so it may take that long before the shareholders notice they've been (legally) robbed. Glad to have you back around. Looks like a good time to be short. (Randy Newman oughta write a song!)

Michael Murphy's Calif Tech Stock Newsletter may present a good list of short stock possibilities. His tech stock recommendations got hammered on Friday. Here are the highlights (lowlights):
ATML -7.25%
ADSK -7.56%
CY -6.94%
EXBT -8.02%
IVAC -12.05%
LSI -6.74%
MACR -7.01%
PRMS -10.87%
QKTN -8.00%
QNTM -10.06%
STMD -14.81%

I thought I was doing well with my short choices, but compared to some of Murphy's long choices, my shorts look sick. I'm not at all sure what is causing this meltdown in his choices, but it's noteworthy. Is anybody shorting any of these stocks?

From a first look, PRMS looks like a possible short. Chart shows a rounded top. P/S=7.5, P/E=70 and declining revenues. Any reason not to short?

Roger, good to see you kept the faith with your ESMC short. Down 3 1/2 as I write this. :)
