Lucretius - yes, you might say I've caught the weather - While the Northeast is getting clobbered way worse, we here in the Pacific NW have been clobbered with 7" of snow, starting yesterday late afternoon. A section of Interstate 84 is shut down in the Columbia River Gorge, with over 100 cars abandoned. Just to give you an idea of how rare this is: I don't remember exactly the last winter we've had a seven inch snowfall (plus a couple more inches due to fall tonight), but it was probably four to five years ago. Also last winter we only had one very brief, very light snowfall, which melted quickly - which is more like a normal Pacific NW winter.
