Any business that would sign up for a plan that charges in full minute increments is foolish (IMHO). 9 cents per minute in full minute increments is a RIP OFF!! Any business with any ld volume can get between 9-12 cents per minute, switched rates, in (worst case scenario) 30 second initial billing, and 6 second increments. Some carriers charge 6 second initial billing, and others (including AT&T) offer single second billing (after a 30 second minimum). Thus, with AOL a 90 second call costs 18 cents, whereas with a traditional ld carrier at 10 cents per minute the call costs 15 cents. You are only paying for the time you are using whereas AOL is rounding up to the next highest minute. How do you like paying for time you are not using?
