axgi, i hope that news is coming, it was touted by ms the weekend before the run up , then trading at 29, tried to get it at 32, nada, 35, nada,.37 was put in at 9.45am and it sat for over an hour and a half before i cancelled the order, that monday it got as high as 41 and closed that day at 36! ms made money , everyone else is still waiting on news...so i agree you have to be there before the news not jumping in on the release of it with the pennies, and if he wants to monitor that kind of activity, i don't believe the pre news buying is gonna be enough for it to show up on a percentage list, agree on the dd especially with pink slips coming, i think a better approach would be to bottom fish in terms of price , make sure the company will be reporting, and load up at the bottom of price if company is satisfactory, then when news comes you're in and ready to go

most of the threads i have read in the five and under category, stockholders have all been promised good news or big news is gonna be released, only to be disappointed by a cheesy release and a subsequent tanking effect, maybe the volume watch has more promise than the actual touting of big news by these companies, if it can be traced to some form of smart money. that is also why i would look for a prior relationship between the pre run up and the news release, and maybe try to develop a pattern that way, rather than wait on promises that turn out to be crap
