3 cents, and you can sell it back at noon for +12 cents, you've made 15 cents.

Well, 12 - 3 = 9 not 15, and the problem I was pointing out is that at 50% roundtrip then what you really have is 12 - 3/0.5 = 12 - 6 = 6 cents instead of 9 cents. So if you are going to play that game, better to find something with 90% roundtrip efficiency than 50%.
