Solid move by the Democrats. Gets CHIP off the table and out of the discussion while demonstrating some bipartisanship.

If Democrats play the immigration issue right they can drive a wedge between the Republicans and the White House or between Chump and his staff. It's all good.

Sam I admit I see it your way. But I have to ask myself, why did so many of the smartest Dems in the senate not go along?

Especially seasoned pros like Feinstein and Mazie Hirono.

They are not fools.

The first is that Democrats caved.

I don't know what this guy is talking about. They finally got CHIP through for six years. And an explicit agreement to get DACA discussed and voted on. If McConnell backs down on that agreement, that is on him.
