There was a period in the 80s when I had a chitload of Canada Savings bonds.. I was doing payroll among other jobs. I had trouble saving so I recruited a bunch of folks so I could srart a payroll savings plan.. You know forced pay yourself first..

Interest rates kept goung up and gov bonds were adjusted.. up so folks did not cash them in.. I made a lot of money.. I made a lot of money for other folks that built home down payments that way.. Ofcourse rates crashed.. But the bonds kept good value longer .. Timing is everything..
