i toyed with the idea of not leaving, but
erred on the side of caution and woke my
husband up. he does not sleep with his
hearing aids!

The 2018 6.9 earthquake that hit the San Andreas fault wreaked havoc with the concentration of datacenters in the US. The earthquake affected, 966 roads, 90 fiber optic cables, 39 gas pipes and 141 power lines that cross the fault zone. The total cost of damage to buildings was estimated at $33 billion. Prodded by insurance companies and disaster recovery, the criteria for datacenter deployment changed dramatically. Datacenters are being deployed in Africa the continent that poses the least natural disasters.
