Hi AlLe,
The homogenization of the US political system into only 2 parties speaks to the underlying paradigm of the US; melting pot. The diversity of the US is a myth. We are blended into what currently has become a 2 party system wherein the distinctions become less apparent as the power of "mainstream" dominates the political stage.
The alternate parties must present an alternative to not only one other party, they must present the alternative to BOTH parties (Democrat & Republican). That's a tough nut to crack.

Just a thought,
Mark
