<<I've seen a problem in the marketplace in that users find the downloads from SanDisk style cards to be EXTREMELY slow. People really like those cameras with the big-ass floppy disks plugged into them. The downloads are nearly instantaneous>>

The above is another reason why SNDK investors should be more concerned about mechanical devices...I've seen them casually dismissed in a few recent posts. If Iomega can successfully manage the introduction of Clik! like they did the Zip, I think it can be a big problem...very low price (compared to flash), easy storage and fast downloads.

I'm not a bear...just wanted to bring up some of the uncertainty surrounding SNDK at the moment.

Neil.

>I agree that the DC210 is by far the best

I bought this camera recently. I really love it.

High resolution shots will eat up about 300+ kbytes of space. You will only be able to keep 4 shots per diskette. I wouldn't want to lug around a bagful of diskettes to a party or vacation. Also, writing to diskettes is several magnitudes slower than writing to flash. It probably takes forever before the diskette-using-camera is ready to shoot again.

What's the big deal about slow downloads anyway? You can always start the download and come back later. With diskettes, you can't do that. You would have to stay to keep switching diskettes.
