They represent one half of the so-called "establishment" that has created a choke hold on Washington politics. Trump is only the catalyst for the GOP's doom. You say he's not really a Republican, which is true in the sense that he's not part of the aforementioned "establishment." But the real truth is that he's not a conservative. While some of his agenda aligns with true conservatism, most of it is just a combination of nativism and crony capitalism. That, plus his severe character flaws, will spell the end of the GOP because the GOP has already sacrificed integrity and ideology in pursuit of power. Like I argued before, Trump and the GOP have succumbed to postmodernism. Even his moral flaws are excused thanks to the temptations of power, which is a very postmodern trait. And guess what? Postmodernism is an invention of the left. Taking advantage of it will only help liberals in the long run. The GOP cannot fight an ideological war in which they succumb to the ideals of the left. You don't stop a habitual liar like Hillary Clinton by electing a habitual liar like Donald Trump. (Side note: Then how did Hillary lose? It's easy. She imploded all by herself. The e-mail scandal was completely of her own doing, but that only capped a long line of other scandals by the Clintons. In the end, they set themselves up for a fall.) Anyway, I've gone on long enough about the GOP's inevitable doom and Trump's role in it. In this essence, I agree with Brumar, even though I don't agree with his extreme kookiness in his opposition. For now, however, I'll just watch from the sidelines as Trump continues to troll the Democrats and the media, and maybe do some things that are actually good for the country, like the lower corporate tax rates. Tenchusatsu P.S. - My next long rant will be about my vision for the future of the GOP post-doom.
