Rarebird, I mentioned Bayside because I know a lot of people there, and I would probably live there if I had to work in the NYC area. It's also very similar to the suburbs here in Silicon Valley.

Therefore I'm very familiar with "upper middle class" lifestyles which dominate the blue states. I'm also perplexed by the fact that these "upper middle class" communities continue to vote Democrat, given my belief that liberal policies are designed to crush the "upper middle class" first. It shows me just how strong identity politics are these days.

In any case, the fact that we are in the top 20% of wage earners in America makes us "rich." Not only that, but when it comes to the rest of the world, we are the "one-percenters."

There will always be someone richer than you, and there will always be someone poorer than you.
