I don't have a clue about such things. Patrick Slevin on the Stock Swap thread would be a better person to ask or read when he starts posting later.

I suppose, like most things, the media will play a major role as perception is everything. If CNBC starts with gloom and doom stories and their guests keep on that theme, watch out. Nothing more than intuition tells me that if the market does start going down it should recover somewhat by the end of the day. I would call that a "been there, done that" mentality. In other words, a weak Asia is more of the same.
