Jakarta to announce IMF talks outcome on Thursday

JAKARTA, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Indonesia's Finance Minister Mar'ie Muhammad said on Monday the outcome of discussions with senior IMF officials concerning the country's reform programme would be announced on Thursday.

Mar'ie said discussions between President Suharto and IMF First Deputy Director Stanley Fischer on Monday were satisfactory and Indonesia would continue talks with the IMF.

''The final talks would be when IMF Managing Director Michel Camdessus arrives on Wednesday and meets the president on Thursday,'' he said.

"After that we will announce the outcome," Mar'ie said.

''In general, I can say the meeting this morning between the IMF and the president was satisfactory and we will proceed with the reform programme which has support from IMF, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank,'' he said.
