I live in the Research Triangle of North Carolina and Staples stores are popping up around here now. I also made some money last year buy ODP each time that the merger with Staples was in trouble. As you may remember, ODP took a severe dive each time, then rebounded fairly quickly. Those are the buying opportunities that I look for; situations where news drives a stock price much lower than is justified. It also happened with a local company here, Medic Computer Systems (MCSY). One bad month dropped the stock from 42 to 14. I bought options at 17 and watched it rise to 32 within a couple of months, then get bought out at 35. Good luck with SPLS. Watching the news this morning, I think we will be lower prices today before it rebounds. I am now hoping to see it drop into the 24s before I buy.
