A1Le,
<<Now, it will make my day if someone discovers something new about the sun to show that it will never burn out.>>

I wish I could offer some reassuring words bu common sense tewlls me that we will someday figure out how to use up that resource as well.

Hi Al,

>>If you know who our corruption guys
are, you have a duty to call the FBI.

Won't do much good with Ms. Reno in charge at Justice. Even Louis Freeh doesn't throw any weight around there.

As I have said before, it depends on your definition of corruption. I guess we are pikers in the US compared with the rest of the world, but when you (or your party) takes money from various business interests, labor unions, lawyers, doctors, or anybody, and then makes laws and writes tax regulations in favor of those groups, that is corruption in my book.

Maybe a third "peoples' party" wouldn't be any better, but I'd like to try one.

BTW, it's nice to know there is such a free market attitude in Thailand:

>>Thai police shut forex firm, arrest manager

BANGKOK, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Thai special branch police said on Monday they had suspended the operations of a foreign
exchange firm and arrested its manager on charges of illegal foreign currency trading.

<<It's debatable about where foreign money comes from. There are rich people here who argue that's their money. If you know who our corruption guys are, you have a duty to call the FBI.>>

I was saying the IMF, wherein probably the source of most of the money involved is known, is to some extent set up to achieve aims other than the stated ones. Aside from that I certainly don't know where most money comes from or goes to. Of course, the goal of obscurity is why money laundering is the third largest international business. Some guys run money through 1000 different accounts before they are through. Also, there are documented cases of the FBI laundering money (not disputed by the FBI). So I am not sure I would want to tell them anything anyway.
