Oh, yeah! While it is old news Chinese building railways and other infrastructures.

While is also true that the development aid bureaucracy (USAID very much on top of that) have been talking (which may have been what you have read) and grabbing millions to connect the unconnected no one has wrote:

The prospects of the Chinese taking over e-commerce, Fintec, datacenters and massively deploy connectivity has never been brought to surface. I did in a very straight forward manner.

The Chinese may succeed where the Westerners have spend a lot of ink and a lot of money and not achieved the objectives.

The Chinese are moving up market and will occupy the space left by the Westerners, namely the tech superpowers

It can be some body have done a study specifically on that and I have missed, which could be normal given the amount of data out there.

If so, I would love to compare with what I have been writing, not from seating on a chair in a library in DC. Here is Africa where I have been deploying technology since 1983.

Did you read the piece? or you just shoot from the hip based on the title.

it is not the same old same old set up

This point is very salient.. Jumped out at me.. as I am investigating high speed for the boonies myself..

Because they are building fiber like crazy along the railways and power lines. With fiber in place, the rest is easy. Power lines do not cross the urban areas. Rail lines and pipelines are way out of the beaten tracks. Thus they are close to the hard to connect populations in the middle nowhere.

This will be empowering and can change politics rapidly... as I said salient..

Canada should stop and listen...

Knowing the Chinese... this may NOT be an unintended consequence..
