<MSFT sucess from IBM lawyer messing up> I don't think so. Gates offered IBM an operating system after IBM went to Digital Research to get CP/M, the big standard at that time. DR's leader, Gary Killdal, chose to go flying instead of keeping his appointment with the IBM guys. They went to Gates where the red carpet was rolled out and the rest is history.

The Lesson: Know which butt to kiss and which to kick. PW.

P.S. CP/M dies. DR brings out DR-DOS. DR later purchased by Novell.
