I know! I read that too and was shocked. The liberal left has not just become unhinged, as I have oft repeated on these threads, they are very smartly changing the world through education. It's no accident the Millenials are majority Socialist. Give it another generation and they'll be joined by Gen Z socialists. The prosperity that you and I knew growing up will not happen for our children. There are simply too few capitalists and conservative economists left in this country. We are blazing a trail towards Socialism in so many way and the left is indoctrinating our kids in so many ways (TV, Hollywood, Middle and High School, Colleges and Universities, Main Stream Media, tech companies and social media) that it is a tsunami tide that I fear cannot be turned back.

I only have one real hope left and this is going to sound arrogant as hell. Rarebird chastised me for it, so please just take this in the spirit it is given. I made a lot of money and retired early. I am doing my best to protect and grow that money, so that I can leave a lot of it to my kids. My wife and I have never been big spenders, so we should be able to leave them a decent amount. It is the only way to offset the lower standard of living they are inheriting from the irresponsible Baby Boomers, and the Socialism that this country is heading for. I hope I am wrong, but since hope is not a strategy, I am prepared for what I see as the inevitable. We're going to look a lot like France via Japan in 10-20 years (debt explosion and monetization - Japan, leading to increasing gov't price setting and takeovers of the means of production), or maybe sooner.
