I have confirmed the revised economic growth rate for Korea. Dr. Soogil Young of Korea Institute of International Economics Policy in his speech on "Future of Korea's Economy" projected a growth rate of 1.5%, a downward revision from 3.1% by the IMF. His presentation was carried by C-SPAN2 on 1/12/98 9:00 PM EST. Unemployment is projected at 6%. He expected monetary policy to be tightenned and the economy of Korea to undergo substantial "economic contraction". I am continue to be confortable with my growth rate projection of EPS for PWAV at 12.5% for 1998.
