From the news release doc....

"Excite will solely sponsor this effort through carefully controlled sponsorship and advertising, made available to only a select group of advertisers."

That my friend is exactly what I was talking to Brooks about....location, location, location. How many business can put up a storefront where 25% of the US drivers pass by on a regular basis?

Can't. Only in CyberSpace.

Some people dismiss these web guides as a fad, overpriced, making no money...ect, ect, ect.... I wonder if that is how the Native Americans saw the transaction for Manhatten Island...when they traded it for a beads & trinkets?

IMO...this CyberTurf controlled by these Web Guides, Yahoo!, Excite, Lycos and InfoSeek...has a value beyond current comprehension.
