If one buys puts for Ins. and the stock goes down where the puts make money then your gain is offset by the drop in the stock price! Not saying it's right or wrong to trade that way, but you make it sound like you are making all this money in puts when really you are off setting it with the price drop of your stock! You have to count all your positions!
