Hi elmat — Don't want to prolong this discussion, but perhaps we should clear up some misconceptions held by you and Black Swan.
  • Nobody is opposing your proposals. But there's nothing new here. Nothing that hasn't been discussed. In over a decade of posts about FTTx and fairly-priced broadband I recall only support for these ideas. With some distinctions.
  • Nobody has opposed taxpayer-paid, PPP, private, or ANY method of funding. Nobody has opposed profit. There can be concerns about funding -- e.g., the influence of Facebook, Google and others -- but they're not a "No".
  • There will be differences from market to market. Africa won't the same as Europe, and we understand that.
Benefits? Of FTTx and broadband? Of connectivity? We've covered those subjects for years.

The only sticking point was acknowledgement of COST — completely absent from your initial posts.

Where you guys got the idea that fair price broadband using FTTx is a new concept on this board -- and that anyone here is voting against the concept -- is a mystery to me.

I wish you good fortune in your endeavours.

Regards,

Jim
