Volatility always rises before a major top. This rise in volatility is in conjunction with a massive short term sell off preceded by an incredibly overbought market supported by excellent market breadth.

In other words I am not sure when this short term selling ends but this rise in volatility does not mean the end of the bull market.

The number of new highs in the market recently as it hit new highs has just been too impressive for the bull to die just yet.

Later this year the market likely sets new highs. When it does then higher volatility on a daily basis in conjunction with a high volume hand off of shares to retail investors (like us) and poor market breadth could help us nail a true major market top.

It's not happening yet.

The yield curve is also moving closer to an inversion but no where near inverted.
