Dems stopped Bush from privatizing Social Security before the Great Recession which would have destroyed SS for the rest of time. Dems helped Bush after the economy collapsed while republicans did little to nothing. Then republican voters voted for more people who did nothing (such as the tea party nuts who lied about death panels) and then voted for a man who spent five years lying about where Obama was born. Racism used to be a deal breaker. It's not anymore. Republicans vote for racists, child molesters, and sexists. They'd vote for Satan himself if Satan promised to end abortion and let them murder people in cold blood (Stand your ground).
