Comrade Loca, If tariffs on washing machines are irrelevant why the heck impose them now? The key is that the message that tariffs on anything can be inflationary and/or they can start a trading war. Trump, days after Davos, wanted to show our trading partners how tough he is. Obviously, you're a lightweight...as you expect the markets to react immediately to anything. The markets are affected by a number of things but the most important factor in this case was ironically the tax cut stimulus which will cause the economy to overheat.
