How suitable is the IDT MIPS for TCI's cable modem set-top biox? One way to answer that may be to look at the similar applications, fgeneral performance, small die size, and ability to play off the existing development tools and GUI interface software:

Superior price/performance, low power consumption, small form factor and the availability of extensive development tools have made the IDT
MIPS RISC family the microprocessors of choice for several leading companies. For example, IDT processors power Cisco 7200 Series(TM) and
7500 Series(TM) routers, Extreme Networks' Summit1(TM) LAN Switch, Yurie Systems' LDR200(TM) ATM concentrator and Lucent
Technologies' GSM BTS-2000/2C(TM) base transceiver station. Household products include two generations of WebTV(R) receivers; EchoStar's
digital broadcast satellite receiver; Hughes Network Systems' DirectPC(R), and home connectivity equipment provided by leading cable modem
companies.

I think that the IDT RV4640 CPU is one of the most formidable contenders for the set-top box market.

Maybe the plan to spend another $200 million on building out the Hillsboro fab will pay some dividends. IDT will need to make a lot of parts to make the continued investment in fabs worthwhile and this may become part of it.

Frank, I've been thinking back to one of your posts. You
had mentioned that you got a glimpse of some very exciting
new stuff from IDTI, if I recall correctly, that gave you
cause to think this stock would soon take off. But, it
was under NDA and you couldn't say much.

Question: Do you feel something big is out there besides
Clear Logic? I'm not looking for details but just an idea
if maybe there's something else to soon look forward to?

Haven't seen you posting too much lately. We depend on you,
Rob, Randy and a few others.
