Khanna? I never considered him to be anything close to moderate.
Of course he ran as left-of-center moderate. He was going up against incumbent Mike Honda, who was dogged by charges of unethical behavior.

Running as a "moderate" seems to be the winning formula here in California. I also remember Baba "Call me Senator" Boxer portraying herself as a "moderate" during one of her re-election campaigns. That, however, was completely laughable as she is one of the most extreme liberals in the Senate, more so than even Dianne Feinstein.

Back to Khanna, the guy started off trying to be a plain-spoken representative, but soon became a parrot for liberal talking points. That's Washington politics for you.

Once again, no wonder people felt like they had to vote for Trump.
