Is there not a PCMCIA adapter for the CF that greatly accerates the download time because with the adapter the user basically is plugging the CF into the computer???

>About how long does it take you to do a download?

It took at least several minutes to download my 4MB CF thru the serial port. I don't really remember because I only did it once. When I bought a 15MB CF, it came with a PCMCIA adapter and the download to my laptop is now only a few seconds per picture.

My only concern is that only a minority of people have PCMCIA slots.

But like I said before, I don't really care that much about download time. I always leave my camera while it's downloading. At this point, I've already seen all the pictures thru the camera's LCD so I'm not that excited about seeing them right away on my computer screen.
