Terrence if there was ever a system which subverted the intentions of the founding Fathers it's our current tax system.

A confusing collection of rules and regulations designed to feed special interest groups and to ensure reelection of those who can "bring home the bacon".

What allot of people seem to not realize, is that tax incentives or the creation of programs like "government day care" encourage people to go that route.

Do we as Americans really want to encourage Mothers and Fathers to drop their kids off at day care?? Yes many parents find it a necessity. Some do it because they are not satisfied as Mothers or Fathers to raise their children at home. And others find the work environment more stimulating. But why encourage it through free government handouts??

If the desire is to lighten the financial burden on Families with children. Simply cut their taxes!! Or better yet give parents the same tax breaks which people get who drop their kids off at day-care.

I never could understand why a family who drops their kids off at day care can take a tax-cut, but the ones who maybe sacrifice and give up some flashy things in life, don't.??

And let's face it, many families could have their mothers or fathers stay home with the kids if they wanted to. They just don't want to give up that second VCR or T.V. Or God forbid, Cable T.V!
