Since you brought up self driving cars, here's a question for you I've pondered.

You are driving home late at night, and a person steps in front of you car, which stops. A person steps behind your car, too, and to the side. The person to the side robs you.

How will this be prevented?

There will be other social transformations with respect to self driving cars, like peds just crossing in front of them regardless of the light. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

And yes, I look forward to this technology, the sooner the better. But I don't want petty thieves harassing me, either.
