Donald Trump family feud

Among the many reasons why Donald Trump can’t govern worth a damn is that he’s so erratic and moody, his advisers and handlers shift in and out of favor, them back in favor, and then back out of favor again, before Trump has finished eating his final Big Mac of the day. Just a few weeks ago, Trump was reportedly ranting and raving in private about how Ivanka and Jared Kushner were ruining everything, and how he wanted them to resign and move back to New York. Now that’s all changed.

Thanks to the recent Rob Porter domestic violence scandal and the White House’s ridiculous attempt at a coverup, Trump is now angry at Chief of Staff John Kelly and Communications Director Hope Hicks. Of course these titles mean little; Trump is on his fourth Communications Director, including one guy who was fired eleven days after taking the job, and one guy who quit two days after he announced he was going to take the job. These people are all just his butt kissers and babysitters, and he gets annoyed with them all for trying to keep him from going totally off the rails.

So now that Trump is annoyed with Kelly and Hicks, he’s apparently decided to circle back and let Ivanka and Jared back under the tent ( link). Here’s the thing, though. They’re not going to be able to find anyone to replace Kelly, because no one wants to be Trump’s Chief of Staff at this point. If they force Kelly out, they’ll end up having to replace him with someone even more inept.

This, of course, comes even as Special Counsel Robert Mueller is moving in on Donald Trump for obstruction of justice, having revealed that he’s ready for his endgame interview with Trump. This means Mueller either has Kushner nailed, or he’s cut a plea deal with Kushner. So Trump is now running his hiring process through a son-in-law who is either about to be arrested or has already flipped on him. Pretty soon, Trump will be left asking Barron to advise him, or even worse, Eric.
