In Los Angeles it's amazing to see the enormous number of Israeli's here solely to give birth so their children have American citizenship. God knows if had grown up in a small nation like Israel I'd want to make sure my children could easily move to America if they needed or wanted to, but I doubt most Americans understand the volume of people involved. But what's annoying is seeing the huge number of Orthodox living without jobs on welfare and a variety of other public benefits as they do in Israel. A significant number of the Orthodox find spouses in Israel, which might be a religious thing but based on the Orthodox I interact with it's the family misfits who have to find a spouse in Israel because unlike their normal brothers and sisters no American will have them. We could do well to tighten up on this nonsense considerably. I know there was a backlash in Israel at one point against the Orthodox living as bossy parasites and some of their privileges were restricted. But two people I know in Israel say it's still a costly problem and irritant to the general public. You and I have talked before about the gangster element from Israel operating here in the US, I'm most familiar with those in real estate. It's sad they primarily prey on Jewish Americans, which is why the FBI groups this type of criminality as "affinity crimes" where criminal Mormons find it easy to prey in trusting Mormons or criminal Chinese prey on the honest Chinese community. It relies on the victims having a blind spot in their judgement. We see this blind spot at work in local law enforcement where small Mormon or some other type of protected religious cult are sexually abusing their children and other mayhem, until state or federal law enforcement become involved, because local law enforcement just blindly write off the criminality as "part of their religion".
