Hi TJ, the main problem is IMHO that the good people leave the country and have no taste for fighting for the rule of law justice or human rights. Israel had way too many wars its citizen serve yearly in 30 to 40 days in reserve duty and people in their subconsciousness are tired fighting. The false statement defining Israel as a "Start-Up" country is pure propaganda Soviet Union style propagated by the Russian emigres that milk the country, denying the proper humanitarian rights to those like me that fought wars and risked their lives to defend Israel from outside destruction.

The system as it is built now with entrenched public employees that enjoy above average compensation for doing almost nothing has little chance to change.

In contrast to Singapore, there is no law enforcement and deals are done behind your back and brought to judges to be rubber-stamped. Law enforcement and Judiciary is very weak and as best example is Israel interior Minister who went to jail for overly gross law violation only to return 10 or 15 years later as Interior Minister.

I myself left after a personal tragedy in 1984 and realizing the difficulties an honest person faces in Israel. To long grim story for SI. I was forced to return to take care of my very ill mother as her only relative.

Due to may cooperation with the US law enforcement authorities related to Israeli Banks who already in 1990 engaged in illegal activities could not find any work in Israel. Never thought such thing could happen and it took several years after my mother passed away to realize that. Of course, my age of 60 was also a factor.

My conclusion on personal experience is that there a is slim chance Israel will turn to the better and a classic example is the present upheaval between the Israeli Police Commissioner and Israel PM supporters.

Israel is a country where war crime where committed by one Israeli party against the other in the event of Altalena, timesofisrael.com and en.wikipedia.org where a ship with ammunition and Holocaust survivors were shot at in front of Tel Aviv shores with the other armed party members shot to kill Holocaust survivors swimming toward the shores of Tel Aviv beaches under Ben Gurion orders.

That event where not taught in schools or told in the army and kept secret. I learned about those war crime only upon my unfortunate return to Tel Aviv.

From the newspaper articles, I posted it is clear that nothing changed. It is for the reader to form his opinion
