VP, Canada is much different than the U.S. when it comes to inheritance taxes.
Canada's inheritance tax rate is zero.
Although some jurisdictions have probate taxes they are typically less than 2%.
And many Canadians attempt to avoid that tax by registering joint titles.
Gets tricky when there is more than one child.
