Where in Maine is the NSM Plant? The ice storm has done a lot of damage there.

Re: reducing the chip size from 150 square millimeters to just 88 square millimeters. </I.

Does that mean that the 150mm die is still one and really that is the one that is late, hence no PR233 in Dec/Nov and PR233 just starting to appear? Looks like they did 150mm M2 on 0.35um and GXm on 0.25um.

Fuchi,
Thanks for the link, now if NSM can crank the clock speed up to
300MHZ they could kick INTC's butt, and gain some serious market
share. It would be even better if they can integrate the "system
on a chip" strategy with the 6x86MX and incorportate video, audio,
soft modem,ethernet,MPEG2,and DVD and sell the chip for $300, if
they could implement this Intel and AMD wouldn't stand a chance.
I may be looking to buy into NSM by summertime but am still
waiting for the right timing, this is good news though. It will
likely take 6 months to get the South Portland fab into a yielding
production mode once the process is transferred, just in time for
the XMas season this year. NSM will be a buy in April-May, IMHO.

Regards,
BB

Fuchi,
I thought the Cayenne would be shipping by mid 1998...why is NSM bothering with the 6x86MX at .25u?

Fuchi,

I hope this will give Cyrix sufficient supplies to put together some "reference systems" and submit them to magazines for their CPU reviews.

It would be nice if they had some running at 333 MHz for comparison with the new P-II.
