Here are some great inflation charts from Dr. Ed Yardeni, one of my favorite economists (along with Lakshman at ECRI and a few others.)

This chart clearly shows how the markets had negative reactions to ending all three QEs but the third one in late 2015 into 2016 reminds me of a cold boat engine needing several pulls to get started and working on its own... without a tow from QE. You could well conclude that the last 10% decline was a similar reaction to higher inflation and no QE to bail us out but followed by the realization that the markets are OK.
