sridhar, you are right that some of mu's competitors have financial trouble. not all, mind you. let's say the koreans die. of course they'll take their billion dollar fabs and turn them into shopping malls, right? what will they do with their billion dollar fabs?

you are assuming they'll just shut them down and then mu is left standing.

you also assume that they haven't been as profitable as mu based upon, well, nothing but mu saying it is so. remember, demand for dram remains strong ;-)

anyway, i believe there won't be any winners. this game is going to result in scorched earth. mu loses about $50 mil this q and probably loses about the same next q. 64 mb is now the game and pricing is so low that 16 mb CAN'T GO UP until 64 mb does.

mu is a bit player in 64 mb.if they are losing $50 mil a q it will be hard to change to 64 mb, imho. if the don't then they have other problems.

does toshiba have a lower market cap then mu as someone said on this thread? wow.

oh, mu up $1.50 to $29 ;-)
