Bush laid the groundwork his own self, starting right here: I've lost count of how many times I've posted this to i-node. Give it a good listen. Bush is encouraging lenders to lend to people with poor credit for houses, and his regulation of that was then turned OFF. Leading directly to the housing bubble, and his deregulation of securities led directly to bad mortgages causing the crash due to rotten MBS's. Because Bush and Greenspan both actually believed that markets regulate THEMSEVES.
