I like how in a parliamentary system, you can vote for candidates much closer to your actual views and positions.

Yes, that's one of the more appealing features. It feels more hands on plus it's flexible so you can form coalitions around one issue with elements with which you might broadly disagree. Polarized parties and 2-4-6 year incumbencies feel impenetrable.
