I taught my children to never kill anything unnecessarily and when you do need to at least give it the respect of thinking about it.

And that includes spiders in the bath tub, the little guys we forget about so much.

I told a story on another thread a few days ago, I was sure people would see as foolish, but I am too old to have false pride-lol.

I swim in the morning in an outside pool. Often when I get in, there are one or two bees or flies or lady bugs trapped in the pool. I get them out and put them on the side. I can watch them from there and it is interesting.

The bees can usually fly away. The flies start by rubbing their legs together and then when their wings get dry enough they stretch them out to dry and rub their legs over them for a while? They also raise their rear ends when rubbing back legs. So you see this little guy recuperating and you start to root for him, or her, too small to tell.

The lady bugs are interesting because they lift their carapace, or so it looks like, to let their wings dry. Most make it and fly away.
